On 7 March 2026, Students of Form 9 had an enriching and informative field visit to Saveetha Engineering College. The visit offered valuable exposure to emerging technologies and innovations in engineering.
The session began with a demonstration of the humanoid robot Tienkung, where faculty explained how the robot functions using advanced sensors and intelligent systems.
Students then explored mobile robotics through a hands-on activity, coding in Python to make a small robotic car move along a track. This practical experience helped them understand how programming controls robotic movements.
The next session introduced drone technology, explaining how drones operate and are controlled. Students also enjoyed a drone simulation, making the learning interactive and engaging.
Students further learned about the fabrication process of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), gaining insight into how electronic circuits are designed and produced. Another session on 3D printing helped them understand the printing process, materials used, and the software involved in designing 3D models.
The visit concluded with a session on the importance of renewable energy and its growing role in the future.
Overall, the field trip provided meaningful exposure to robotics, coding, drones, electronics, and sustainable technologies, while also giving students insights into career opportunities in engineering and technology.
