The Pupil International School celebrated Madras Day on August 25th 2025 with great enthusiasm and cultural pride, commemorating the founding of our beloved city on August 22, 1639.
Students presented a vibrant showcase of Chennai’s heritage through skits, songs, and dance performances. Their presentations highlighted iconic landmarks such as the Kapaleeswarar Temple and St. Thomas Mount, captured everyday experiences like auto rides and traditional South Indian cuisine, and reflected the spirit of the city through depictions of Ennore’s fishermen and gully cricket at Marina Beach. The program also paid homage to cultural icons such as Thiruvalluvar and film legend Rajinikanth, along with the city’s enduring traditions.
The celebration also served as a reminder of the responsibility to protect our city. Students addressed important civic issues, including pollution and waste management at Marina Beach, emphasizing the need for preservation and awareness.
The event concluded with a dynamic finale and the spirited message:
“Namma ooru Chennai… Super da!”
This celebration not only honored the history of Chennai but also strengthened our students’ connection to its culture, identity, and legacy.
