As part of their Unit of Inquiry under the theme “Who We Are,” our Form 1 students visited the Victoria Memorial Blind School, Poonamallee, for a meaningful learning experience that encouraged empathy, respect, and inclusion.
During the visit, students explored Braille books, tactile learning materials, and assistive resources, gaining a deeper understanding of how visually impaired individuals learn and navigate the world. They also experienced reading Braille through touch and discovered specially designed sports equipment, reinforcing the belief that every child has the right to learn, play, and thrive.
This enriching experience beautifully brought to life the central idea: “Understanding and respecting differences helps in living together peacefully”. Our young learners returned with greater compassion, appreciation, and a renewed commitment to embracing diversity and inclusion.
