As part of the Unit of Inquiry under the transdisciplinary theme Sharing the Planet, our Form 3 students participated in an inspiring guest lecture titled “Earth Heroes” by Dr. Shamili on July 27th 2026.
A dental surgeon with a deep passion for nature and mental well-being, Dr. Shamili is trained in psychology and horticultural therapy. Through the Laya Initiatives Foundation, she actively promotes environmental awareness and eco-education.
The interactive session included breathing exercises, an engaging video on the formation of the Earth, and thought-provoking discussions on ecosystems, biodiversity, plant habitats, and conservation. Through activities, songs, and an Earth-Saving Pledge, students discovered simple yet impactful ways to care for the environment.
The session inspired our young learners to embrace their role as responsible global citizens and empowered them to become true Earth Heroes, committed to building a more sustainable future.
