PYP policy
Admissions.
Who we admit, and how.
A diverse student body enriches the school community. We look for curious, motivated children and welcome applications throughout the year.
A thorough education develops compassion, tolerance, respect for the rights and cultures of all people, the skills to resolve conflict peacefully, and responsibility for the environment.
The IB focuses on the development of the whole child: intellectual, emotional, social and physical. At The Pupil, we foster academic excellence, intellectual inquiry and critical thinking, and we see the physical, expressive and creative arts as an essential part of a holistic education.
Admissions process
Enquire
Applications are accepted throughout the year. Families can contact the school’s admission desk to receive the application form, fee schedule and other documents.
Apply
Submit the completed form with the documents listed below and the application fee of ₹1,000, payable to “The Pupil International School”. The fee can also be paid online, with a confirmation sent to us by email.
Visit and interact
Once the application is received, we fix a convenient day for both parents and the child to visit the school and meet the Director or Branch Head. During the visit, the child has an informal conversation and a short assessment of language and logical reasoning.
For the choice of first and second language, please see our Language Policy.
Who we look for
Each application is studied carefully. We look for students who:
- Are open-minded, motivated and determined.
- Show a keen interest in activities such as sports, visual arts, music and drama.
- Have average to excellent academic performance.
- Show good conduct and respect for others.
Experience of IB programmes is an advantage, but it is not required.
How decisions are made
The Admissions Committee is made up of the Head of School, the Senior School Head, an Admissions Coordinator and the PYP Coordinator. Other staff are consulted when needed.
After the assessment and review, families may be invited for a final interview with the Head of School or Senior School Head. Both parents attend with the child. The final decision rests with the Head of School.
Once a place is offered, we send the Enrolment Contract. The admission is complete when the signed contract and the fees are received within the given timeline.
Orientation meeting
Before the child’s first day, both parents and the child meet the class teacher for an orientation meeting.

Special educational needs
